Marion Ryan

WINTERPORT – Marion Louise (Carleton) Ryan, 89, passed away peacefully July 17, 2019, with her children by her side. She was born August 30, 1929, in Winterport, the youngest of nine children to Morton L. and Vivian V. (Titcomb) Carleton.

Marion graduated from Winterport High School, Class of 1948. She married Herbert Edward Ryan Jr. on September 16, 1950. Marion was known as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, with a witty sense of humor that was always enjoyed by all who loved her.

In addition to her parents, Marion was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Herbert Edward Ryan Jr.; seven of her siblings, and a son-in-law, Glen Kennedy. She is survived by her children, Beverly Kennedy of Winterport, Mary Lou Deane and husband, Gordon of Winterport, Catherine Wing and husband, Steve of Winterport; Leana Seekins and husband, Peter of Searsport, Robert Ryan of Bangor, Melanie Ryan-Brown and husband, Coy of Texas; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Winotta Reynolds of Hermon; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call 1-2 p.m., Monday, July 22, 2019, at the Winterport Baptist Church, 100 Coles Corner Rd, Winterport, where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Monday, with Rev. Garnett Chute, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Winterport. All are welcome to share conversation and refreshments in the church hall immediately following the funeral.
