Marion Yvonne (Smith) Wright
Bangor-Calais - Marion Wright, died September 4, 2019 at her home. She was born March 20, 1924 the only child of Harvey and Ethel (Adams) Smith. Marion graduated from Calais Academy in 1941, where she was a member of the National Honor Society and basketball team. She then went on to the Bangor Maine School of Commerce where she was a member of Epsilon Tau Epsilon sorority and the basketball team, graduating in 1942. Marion was employed for ten years in the Calais office of the Maine Employment Security Commission and for six years in the Belfast office of Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service. She was married to Harold “Haddie” S. Wright for 64 years before he died in 2009. She is survived by cousins and her extended family, Richard and his wife Mary Barnard, Christopher and his wife Susan Barnard, Marc and his wife Betsy and their sons Adam and Andrew. Marion was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, Calais and will have her final service there on Monday September 9, 2019 at 11 am with the Rev. Sara Gavit, rector officiating. Interment will follow in the Calais Cemetery. All are invited to share conversation and refreshments in the church hall, following the burial.
