EDDINGTON - Mark Anthony Proulx, 71, died unexpectedly on August 12, 2023, at a Bangor hospital. He was born August 26, 1951, in Bangor to Leonel and Avis (Quirion) Proulx.
Mark graduated from Brewer High School in 1969. He served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Mark worked in the vending industry for many years, and was the owner/operator of J&M Vending until 2020. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, and his dogs. Mark loved spending time with family, and was affectionately known to his grandchildren as, “Grumpy Grampy.”
He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Gary.
Mark is survived by Jeananne, his wife of 31 years; his children, and grandchildren, Michelle Shepherd and her children, Aiden, Rowen, Emerson, and Easton; Shawn Umble, his wife, Amanda, and their children, Michel, Aaliyah, and Connor; James Umble III, and his wife, Kara, and their children, Brayden, Landon, an Amara; Mark Proulx II, and his girlfriend, Mikayla. He is also survived by six siblings, two sisters-in-law, his stepmother, and many extended family members.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at the East Eddington Community Church, 1410 Main Rd. Eddington, Maine. A reception will immediately follow the service in the church fellowship hall.
