FRANKLIN, NH & OLD TOWN – Marlene N. Cogger, 80, passed away November 3, 2016, at her residence in Old Town. She was born December 25, 1935, in Exeter, the daughter of Henry and Evelyn (Buzzwell) Jackson.
Marlene graduated from Higgins Classical Institute in Charleston, class of 1954. Following graduation, she began her career working at the Eastland Woolen Mill and later at various electrical manufacturing facilities. Marlene’s passion was bowling and was part of various bowling leagues throughout the years. In her younger years, she also enjoyed spending winter’s snowmobiling with family and friends. Marlene also enjoyed every cat she had throughout her entire life, and spoiled them rotten.
In addition to her parents, Marlene is predeceased by her husband, Paul Cogger. Surviving are a son, Gary Hodgdon and his wife Cheryl of Northwood, NH; a daughter, Sherry Hodgdon and her partner Tom Bouchard of Passadumkeag; grandchildren, Jason Hodgdon and partner Samantha Delisle of Pittsfield, NH, Jennifer Davis and husband Allan of Middletown, NH, Ronnie Parker and wife Jessica of Frankfort, and Kristy Parker of Passadumkeag; nine great-grandchildren; brothers Robert Jackson and wife Laura of Winterport, and Byron Jackson and wife Joanne of Holden; and nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held 1 PM, Thursday, November 10, 2016, at Oak Grove Cemetery, Finson Road, Bangor, with the Rev. Grace Bartlett, pastor of the First Congregational Church of Brewer, officiating. Those who wish to remember Marlene in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the Bangor Humane Society.
