Ruth Anderson,86, passed away July 14, 2019 unexpectedly while battling kidney cancer. She was born May 21, 1933 to George Albert and Elvina Arter and raised in Oklahoma. She was dedicated to her family and treasured making memories with them above all else. She discovered her love of traveling with her late husband, Charles Anderson, and then generously shared that love with everyone close to her. She was always interested in people and their stories and would be the first person to sit by you and make you feel included and loved. She had a way about her that was so warm, cheerful and inviting. She always took life as it came with a smile. She especially loved her role as Gram. She was an active member of All Souls Congregational Church and spent her free time with her many friends at church events.

Ruth is survived by her 3 children Retha Berube and husband Roland, James Bobb and wife Darlene, Alcinda Hall and husband Joseph; grandchildren, Anna Berube, Leia Berube, Drew Smith and wife Becky, JR Smith and wife Debbie, Corey Bobb and wife Kristin; great grandchildren Kale, Keagan and Porter Smith, Kelsey Bamburg, Everett and Olivia Mellott, Carter Bobb; great-great granddaughter Zelda.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 5 to 7 pm. Wednesday July 17, 2019 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A funeral service will be held 11 am. Thursday July 18, 2019 at All Souls Congregational Church 10 Broadway, Bangor, ME. 04401. The family invites folks to share conversation and refreshments in the church vestry following the service. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
