Mary Ella Lunn

Mary Lunn, 82, passed away at home on August 17, 2021 after over 20 years of ill health due to a stroke.
Mary was born on December 28, 1938 in Columbia, Maine to Milo and Sylvia Oakes. Mary worked 30 years at Osram Sylvania. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved cooking and baking and was known for making the best whoopie pies but her favorite was baking and decorating wedding and other special occasion cakes. Saturdays in the summer meant it was yard sale time. Mary was recognized by the Red Cross for giving blood more than 25 times. She was predeceased by her parents, (her mother died when Mary was 6 years old); a son Barry Lunn and brothers Richard Oakes, Hollis Oakes and Royce Oakes. Mary is survived by her husband of 62 years, Lewis Lunn; son Michael Lunn and wife Amy; sisters Lorita Brooks, Charlene Bagley, a beloved cousin Lillian Foss and Special friend and caretaker Melissa Marin. A service will be held 11 am. Friday August 20, 2021 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor , where relatives and friends are invited to call 10 am until 11 am. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family asks no flowers please.
