Mary Limberis

May 29, 1923 — March 18, 2016

BANGOR - Mary D. Limberis, 92, wife of the late George P. Limberis, passed away March 18, 2016 surrounded by her family, whom she loved and cherished, after a long battle with Parkinson's. She was born May 29, 1923 in Milford, daughter of Albert H. Dunn and Flora (Jenkins) Dunn. She attended Milford schools and graduated from Old Town High School. She then graduated from Eastern Maine General Hospital Nursing School and became a Registered Nurse. She worked as an R.N. at Massachusetts General Hospital while her husband was attending law school in Boston. Upon their return to Bangor, she worked as an R.N. at Eastern Maine General Hospital where she became a nursing supervisor. She dedicated her life to caring for her family, her friends, and her community. She chaired an annual American Heart Association fundraiser and was active with many charities. She was a Boy Scout Den mother and member of the Philoptochos of the St. George Greek Orthodox Church. She gave of herself unselfishly to anyone she met. She was a second mother to many and her loving, caring, and giving nature led everyone who came in contact with her to consider her an angel. She is survived by her brother, Albert H. Dunn, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Old Town; her son, Christopher and his wife, Nancy, of Bangor; three granddaughters, Lisa Butler and her husband, Joel, of Holden, Sarah Cullen and her husband, Dave, of Norwood, Mass., Katie Dacke and her husband, Roy, of St. Petersburg, Fl.; seven great-grandchildren, Brandon, Xavier, Mary Abigail, Olivia, Ella, Matthew, and Ava, as well as many special nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Marianne Thomas, Catherine Dunn, and her brother Joseph Dunn. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to Kathy, Brian, Matt, Cassie, Sally, Pat, and the rest of the staff of Ross Manor for their gentle and loving care over the years. They would also like to thank Karin and Jan at New Hope Hospice for their kindness and support. You are all wonderful.
