Mary S. MacBain, 92, passed away February 14, 2023 at a Bangor health care facility, with family at her side. She was born in Bangor, March 10, 1930 the daughter of Jeremiah T. and Theresa E. (Reynolds) Sullivan.
Mary worked as a switch board operator at Bangor Mental Health Institute for many years. She was an accomplished seamstress, rug hooker and homemaker.
She was predeceased by her husband John, five sisters Geraldine, Kathleen, Lillian, Leola and Madeline; a brother Jerry T. Sullivan and a son Michael P. Brooker.
Surviving are two sons, Matthew H. Brooker, Jr. and his wife, Diane, James J. Brooker and his wife, Suzanne; nine grandchildren, Sarah, Alex, Myra, Robbie, Deanna, Kristopher, Elizabeth, Matthew and Mallory; a niece Maureen and nephews Mike and Mark; and great grandchildren.
A special thanks to the staff at Winterberry Heights, Bangor Nursing and St. Joseph Hospice.
A celebration of life for Mary will be held at a time to be announced in the spring. Followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com
