Mary “Betty” (LaPointe) Melvin

Mary “Betty” Melvin, wife for 49 years of the late James C. Melvin, passed away December 26, 2021. She was born in Mars Hill March 8, 1944 the daughter of Lawrence Joseph and Laura Marion (Nedeau) LaPointe.
She was a graduate of Easton High School class of 1963.
Betty began working as a care giver in Calais. She moved to Hampden and worked at the deli at Lounsbury’s Shop and Save, finally retiring from Osram Sylvania after many years of service. Betty was an avid sports fan.
Surviving are three sons, Scott Melvin and his partner Tracy Barker, Kevin Melvin and his wife, Kim, and Troy Melvin and his wife, Tricia; five granddaughters, Amber Melvin, Angel Melvin, Courtney Melvin, Olivia Melvin and Erin McGinty; a daughter-in-law, Lori Melvin; one sister Mae Schwartz and her husband Jerry; numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by brothers Lynwood, Robert, Ralph, Gilbert “Diddy”, Russell and Darrell and by sisters Rita Cyr and Lorraine Cyr.
Services will be held at a later date.
