HERMON. Rose E. Butera, 86, died May 12, 2016 at Bangor hospital following a brief illness. She was born July 5, 1929, in Warren, RI, daughter of Adelard and Elizabeth (Boulanger) Joncas.
Rose was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Parish, Senior Citizens of Bangor, the Democratic Committee and will be remembered as an avid bowler.
Surviving are one daughter, Michele Butera of Brewer; seven grandsons, David Vachon, Matthew Vachon, twins Adam and Anthony Vachon, Michael Butera Jr., Daniel Butera and Joshua Butera; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Edmond Joncas of Lewiston and Adelard Joncas of New Gloucester; 2 special nieces, Florence Berwick and Angela Allen; other nieces and nephews. Rose was predeceased by her first husband, Charles Butera, second husband, Lorenzo Daigle and her son, Michael C. Butera.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5 to 7pm Monday, May 16, 2016 at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main Street, Brewer. A funeral mass will be held 11 am Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at St. Paul the Apostle Paris, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 531 North Main Street, Brewer followed by the Rite of Committal at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites all to share conversation and refreshments at the Brewer Chapel Reception Rooms following the services Tuesday.
