Mary Souders

Hermon - Mary Souders, 83, died October 10, 2016 after a brief illness. She was born in Bangor, July 2, 1933, daughter of Forest A. and Helen (Bowen) Bragg. Mary was a graduate of Hermon High School. After high school she married and moved to Ohio for a period of time. She enjoyed all animals, especially her cats. Mary and her family lived in Newport for 15 years. She was a long-time correspondent for the Bangor Daily News. She would eventually return to Hermon to care for her mother. Mary worked at ADCO Medical Supply until her retirement. Surviving are a daughter, Catherine Mahanpour and her husband, Ardi of Foster City, CA., a son, Mark Souders of Auburn; three grandsons, Douglas Smith, Jr. and Cheryl King, Colby Souders and his wife, Kristi, Chase Souders; a granddaughter, Heather Blackwell; five great- grandchildren, Tyler Smith, Dylan Smith, Gwendolyn Smith, Grayson Souders, Sawyer Souders; a sister-in-law, Olive Bragg; two nieces, Pamela Simpson and her husband, Dick, Nancy Foster and her husband, Dale. Mary was predeceased by a brother, Forest Bragg, Jr.
