Marylyn Louise Mallory

Marylyn Louise (Cox) Mallory, 83, passed on, June 19, 2020 at Eastern Maine Medical Center surrounded by her surviving children and husband. She was born in Bangor, Maine on February 21, 1937, the daughter of Leon S. Cox and Vivian F. (Farwell) Cox.
Marylyn graduated from Brewer High School Class of 1955. She married her high school sweetheart, Alvah Theophilus Mallory of Orrington, Maine June 2, 1956 and they recently celebrated 64 years of marriage.
Marylyn was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Orrington Maine. She served the community as a leader on several committees and outreach programs. Marylyn was a founding member of the FUMCO Food Pantry, sang in the church choir, served on the missions committee and enjoyed the music ministry of the FUMCO Singers. Marylyn helped establish and worked at the church FUMCO daycare center where she influenced the lives of many Maine children. She continued to care for children at the family home after her retirement.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Anna, brother Tom and her son Darrell Edward Mallory. Marylyn is survived by her loving husband, Alvah, sister Jean DeBeck, Son, David Mallory (Kimberly), daughter Tammy Mallory (Chris Teague), ten grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Relatives are welcomed to a private family viewing at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Str., Bangor noon on Wednesday June 24. Relatives and friends are invited to the graveside service at Dean Hill Cemetery, River Road, Orrington Maine Thursday June 25 at 11 am. Please adhere to state recommendations concerning social distancing and wearing masks.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the First United Methodist Church of Orrington Food Cupboard, 14 Center Drive, Orrington, Maine (207) 825-4414.
