Matthew Doherty

Matthew John Doherty, 33, passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on November 16, 2021, at his home. He was born September 5, 1988, in Great Falls, Montana, the loving son of John K. and Lisa Marie (Sholler) Doherty.

Matthew graduated from Bangor High School in the Class of 2007 where he played football and was involved with the ROTC. He was employed at the commissary as a bagger for many years. Matthew enjoyed playing video games. He loved meeting up with his life long buddies for many excursions over the years.

In addition to his parents; he is survived by a sister, Jessica Lynn Doherty of Old Town; a grandmother, Grace “Ellie” Chambers of Brewer; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by a grandfather, James E. Doherty; a Nana, Audrey Wickett; and an uncle Reginald Sholler.

Friends may call from 5-7:00 PM, Monday, November 22, 2021, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor, where a Funeral Liturgy outside of Mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 23, 2021, followed by a Rite of Committal at Mt.
