MAURICE EUGENE HAMM,
STILLWATER
Maurice E. Hamm, 74, went to his heavenly home on November 10, 2021 at Maine Veterans' Home in Bangor after an extended battle with dementia. He was born May 19, 1947 in Belfast, the son of Cyrus R. and Marian Hamm Batchelder.
After graduating from Belfast Area High School, Maurice served in the U.S. Army. During the Vietnam War, he started exchanging letters with Delores Adams. They married in 1970 and eventually settled in Stillwater. In Maurice's chosen field of electronics repair, he was a hard worker. He liked his days at the plant, hours that were filled with problems to solve and practical jokes among colleagues.
A member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance for over forty years, Maurice enjoyed volunteering for his church. Whether mowing the lawn or repairing the organ, cooking prayer breakfasts or serving on the board, no job was too small. Charity lived in his heart, and if he knew how to help someone, he would.
Surviving in addition to his wife Delores (Adams) Hamm are his daughter Candice Schoth and her husband Andre; two brothers, Rudolph and Ralph Hamm; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Maurice was predeceased by his parents, brothers Robert Hamm, Warren and Doug Batchelder, and sister Wanda Martin.
A graveside service will be held at Lawndale Cemetery in Old Town on May 27, 2022 at 2:00 PM. Friends and family are welcome. Condolences may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com.
