Maxine G. Bass, 77, died after a long illness on June 16, 2022. She was born October 9, 1944 in Belfast, daughter of Eva M. (Knowlton) Hart and Albert J. Hart.
Maxine attended Crosby High School, then graduating from Bangor High School in 1973. She volunteered for the Winterport Ambulance Services, Baby Clinic, drove for the State of Maine and WCASA and most recently volunteered for the Winterport Snowmobile Club. She was a girl scout leader and the town cookie chair person. Her and her husband had a LP Gas business along with a garage and towing company for many years. She worked in many local stores and restaurants, then retiring after 13 years from Lemforder Corporation.
She leaves her husband Francis Bass; a sister, Madeline Lowe; her children Sharon Norris, Sterling “Frank” Lowe, Donald Bass and his wife Chrystal, Pauline “Polly” Dube and her husband Jerry; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; special friends Clarence & Holly Drew and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are welcome to gather from 1-3 PM, Saturday, July 16, 2022, at the Winterport Snowmobile Club, 30 Pine View Road, Winterport, to celebrate her life.
