Maxine Elizabeth Freese, 99, passed away peacefully September 27, 2020, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born May 14, 1921 in Charleston the daughter of Frank Richard and Blanche E. (Nickerson) Colpitts.
Maxine attended the First Baptist Church of Bangor for over 70 years where she served on many committees. She believed that helping people was important. Maxine put her beliefs into action and was a volunteer at Eastern Maine Medical Center for 45 years, was a member of the Jaycees Wives, and served on the boards of both the Phillips-Strickland Home and the YMCA.
She is survived by her children; Diana Keyser of Bangor, Rachel Redman and husband Dennis of Hermon, Paul Richard Freese and wife Robin of Brewer; grandchildren, Nichole, Jarrett, Christy, Jason, Jenna, Justin, and Benjamin; and eleven great-grandchildren. Maxine was predeceased by her loving husband William, a brother Kenneth, and a sister Edwina.
Services will be private for the family. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com.
