Megan ‘Meggy’ Nicole Brooks, 17, passed away on September 7, 2024 surrounded by family. She was born December 7, 2006, the daughter of Charles Brooks and Heather Babcock.
Megan attended Hampden Academy, class of 2025. She loved adventures with family, hugs, pinwheels, food, especially cheesecake, and funny faces. She enjoyed listening to music and people watching.
Megan will be remembered as determined, curious, and extremely courageous. Although she never spoke a word, Meggy was an effective communicator and taught many valuable lessons in her short life. Her smile was contagious and could light up a room. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Megan was predeceased by her grandfather, Charles Brooks Jr. She is survived by her parents, Charles and Heather; sisters, Elizabeth and Addison Brooks; grandparents, Denny and Paula Babcock; grandmother, Dorothy Brooks; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
The family would like to extend their thanks to all of Megan’s caregivers and support team for their commitment to giving Meggy an enjoyable and comfortable life.
In lieu of flowers, the family request guests to bring a pinwheel to the reception.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Meggy’s life from 1-3pm, Saturday, September 28, 2024 at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor.
