Holden - Merrill H. Muncey, Sr., 85, died peacefully at his home on January 18, 2022 after a long illness. He was born in Danforth on August 3, 1936, the son of Harvey and Josephine (Gould) Muncey.
Merrill served in the United States Marine Corps during Korea war. He also served in the Seabees, and the Air National Guard. Merrill was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed hunting, but especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Kathryn A. Muncey; a son, Edmond J. “Joey” Muncey, and a grandson, Eugene Muncey.
Merrill is survived by three sons, Merrill Muncey Jr., of Holden, Ricky Muncey and his wife, Dorothy, of Lincoln, and Arthur Muncey and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Sidney; grandchildren, AJ Muncey and his wife, Megan, Ashley Dow and her husband, Shawn, Matthew Muncey, Merrill Muncey III, Benjamin Muncey, Kelly Ryder, Dan and his wife, Beth Muncey, Mandy Jones, Bub Muncey; great grandchildren, Abbey, Angelou, and Cole Muncey, Eben and Owen Ryder, Ella and Alexa Muncey, Copper, Cohen, and Arwen Dow, Riley, James, and Aiden Schramm, Dax Hogan;
life Partner, Jenny Ross; former daughter-in-law, Pam Jones.
