Bangor - Michael E. Campbell Sr., 73, passed away surrounded by family March 29, 2024. He was born February 1, 1951, in Farmington, Maine, the son of Hugh Sr and Eva (Bonney) Campbell.
Mike married his high school sweetheart, Susan Wells, and went on to attend the University of Maine at Farmington, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. He then started a career in heavy equipment sales. This career took him and his family to Bangor. He retired after a long tenure in sales and management of Nortrax. Mike enjoyed outdoor activities with his family such as hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. He shared many hunting adventuring with family, friends and his lifelong friend, Jerry Simpson. Family was his joy. He enjoyed the yearly family 4th of July week long get together, making sure there was entertainment for the young ones. Mike loved being with family and extended family and spending time with his nieces and nephews.
Mike is survived by his wife, Susan Campbell, who resides at Memory Care of Westgate; two sons, Michael Campbell Jr. and his wife, Michele, of Bangor and Marcus Campbell and his wife, Aimee, of Madison; grandchildren, Morgan MacMillan and her husband, Ben, and Broc and Reid Campbell; great-grandchild, Annie May; brother, Dr. Hugh J. Campbell Jr. and his wife, Jane, of Elkton, MD; his sisters, Sister Janet Campbell, RSM of Portland, Helen Gervais and her husband, Richard, of Myrtle Beach, SC, Susan Daigle of Lincoln, and Mary Melcher and her husband, Larry, of Jay. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Teresa A. Campbell, Diane M. LaPointe, and Pamela Berry; brother-in-law, James Daigle; and great-grandchild, Kiera-Michele MacMillan.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2024, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish at St. John's Catholic Church, 217 York Street, Bangor. In lieu of flowers, Michael may be remembered though donations to Empty Arms of Greater Bangor, 6 State Street, Suite 300, Bangor, in memory of Kiera-Michele.
