MICHAEL ERIC GOODMAN
BANGOR – Michael Eric Goodman, 78, died unexpectedly October 27 at his home in Bangor. He was born November 2, 1942, in Bangor, the son of Samuel S. Goodman and Hilda (Friedman) Goodman.
Mike graduated from Georgetown University in 1965 and from Boston College Law School in 1968. During law school, he married Bunny Braveman and following graduation, they returned to Bangor, started a family, and he joined his older brother in his law firm, which became Goodman & Goodman and later Goodman, Goodman & Kornriech. Following many years of practicing law, he decided to turn his attention to other pursuits.
Throughout his adult life, he enjoyed camping with his family on Mount Desert Island, photographing wildlife, and in his later years, spending time with his six grandchildren recycling jokes from the campfire and eating copious amounts of junk food,.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, James. Surviving in addition to his ex-wife, are his daughter, Leah Salow and her husband Greg and their three sons, Drew, Charlie and Nick, all of South Portland, and his son Joshua Goodman and his wife Ingrid Schroffner, and their three children, Jake, Ari, and Annika, all of Newton, Massachusetts, his sisters Rhonda Grodberg and Hannah Obstler (Alan), his sister in law Margie, and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Sunday, October 31 at Beth Israel Cemetery, Severance Rd. Bangor. Those who wish to remember Mike in a special way may make gifts in his memory to Beth Israel Synagogue, P.O. Box 1509, Bangor, ME. 04402-1509.
