TRENTON, FL & BANGOR – Mildred “Millie” Childs, 69, passed away Monday March 17, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 28, 1944 Eagle Lake, ME, the daughter of Wilford and Virginia (Dube) Pelkey. Millie grew up in Woodville, ME. She had many accomplishments including earning her Beautician's and Bartender's licenses and worked as a cook in restaurants and nursing homes. Millie enjoyed cooking, crocheting, painting, puzzles and crafts. Her family is what she treasured the most in life. She is survived by five children, Robin Wiley and partner Dale Simonds, Kevin Gilbert, Lisa Eaton and husband Chuck, Tammy Champoux and partner Bob Taylor, Mary Stewart and husband Daniel; ten grandchildren, Michelle, Edward, Mary, Crystal, Holly, C.J., Kevin, Beau, John, Mariah, Siera, Mackenzie,and five great grandchildren, Jacob, Ethan, Cody, Noah, & Jayden. She also leaves behind eleven siblings, Sylvia, Milford, Raymond, Theresa, Nelson, Roger, Marlene, Dean, Melvin, Donald, Carolyn, and their spouses as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Robert, a brother Norman and sisters Lorena & Jeannette. The family would like to thank all the caring nurses and staff at New Hope Hospice. Friends may call 6-8 PM Wednesday March 19, 2014 at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith 55 South Main St. Brewer. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Grace Bartlett officiating. Interment will take place at Hardeetown Methodist Cemetery in Chiefland, FL at a later date.
