Mildred Saltzman

Mildred (Carver) Saltzman, 95, of Hallandale, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on November 8, 2024. Born in Bangor, Maine on June 2, 1929 to Alex and Katherine (Epstein) Carver, Mildred was predeceased by her devoted husband of 62 years, Elmer Saltzman.
A graduate of the University of Maine, Mildred wore many professional hats throughout her life, including social worker, bookkeeper and business owner. However, her most cherished role was that of friend, and she adored socializing with and entertaining her many lifelong contacts in both Maine and Florida.
Mildred is survived by her loving daughter, Deborah (Saltzman) Chasen and her husband, Scott; granddaughters, Jackie Chasen and Jennifer (Chasen) Gosselin and her husband, Jesse; and beloved great-grandchildren, Everly and Dean Gosselin. The family is beyond grateful to Mildred’s incredible caregivers, Anjia Rockhead, Josephine Douglas Jones, for all their support.
A graveside service will be held 12:00 Thursday, November 14, 2024 at the Congregation Beth Israel Cemetery in Bangor Donations can be made in Mildred’s memory to either Congregation Beth Israel, 144 York St., Bangor or Temple Emanuel of Greater New Haven, 150 Derby Ave. in Orange, Connecticut, 06477.
The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor, following the service.
