Mildred Skinner

March 22, 1927 — June 8, 2015

Bangor, Maine - Mildred (Milly) D. Skinner, 88, formerly a longtime resident of Crystal Lake, Illinois, passed away on June 8, 2015. Born March 22, 1927 to Helen and Harold Enns of Minier, Illinois Milly spent many happy years growing up on her family’s farm. She attended Illinois State Normal University in Bloomington, IL.
Milly married William (Bill) Faellaci in 1949 and they made their home in Crystal Lake, IL, rearing three children. Milly later married Donald Skinner in 1972. She worked as a medical lab tech in Crystal Lake, IL. Milly and Don enjoyed gardening, golf, travel, and socializing with friends and neighbors. Both were active members of the Congregational Church in Crystal Lake, IL. They moved to Maine in 2005 to live closer to Milly’s daughter, and they joined the Congregational Church in Brewer, ME. The focus of Milly’s life was her family, home, faith and friendships. She was active in Stevens Ministry and the Mended Hearts Association. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels, the community food pantry, and the hospital auxilliary. She was also a long-time member of PEO (Philanthropic Educational Organization). Milly had a deep appreciation for the beauty of the natural world. She was well-loved by her many friends and family for her kind and gentle spirit and will be missed. She is survived by her children: John Faellaci of Midland, MI; Jeffrey Faellaci of Burlingame, CA; and Janet Fairman of Dixmont, ME. She is also survived by four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, her brother Howard Enns of Torrington, CT, two nephews and a niece. A celebration of Milly’s life will be held at a later date to be announced.
