HAMPDEN – Mildred “Mickey” Edith Tracy, 85, passed away on July 16, 2019 at Maine Veteran’s Home in Bangor after a brief illness. Mickey was born on October 17, 1933 in Bangor, the daughter of William and Elizabeth Friedman.
In September 1951 she married Sheldon Tracy and together they enjoyed 51 years of marriage. Mickey was the type of person that always liked to have family and friends around. Her home in Hampden was never empty, there was always something going on. She loved to cook and served many meals to her family and friends. Mickey especially loved Christmas, Sheldon would set up her collection of Christmas houses. She was always ready for a card game, it didn’t matter which game it was. Her true passion was working at Bangor-Brewer Bowling Lanes where she worked for many years running tournaments for seniors, and the Special Olympics.
In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Mickey was predeceased by her sisters, Rose Gerrish, and Sandra Pearson; grandson, Leonard Sheldon Tracy; and her best friend, Abby Morse. She is survived by her sons, Leonard Tracy of Levant, William Tracy and his wife, Debbie of Barnstead, NH, and Matthew Tracy and his wife, Lori of Carmel; grandchildren, Jim Tracy and his partner, Tonny Ma of San Fransisco, CA, Jasmin Tracy and Shawn MacDonald of Hermon, Josh Tracy and his wife, Tamara of Steep Falls, and Tyler Tracy of Carmel; great-grandchildren, Alana Broughton, and Ethan Tracy; brothers, Robert, and John Friedman, Philip, and Perry Theriault; and her sister, Carol Ware.
The family invites relative and friends to share in conversation and refreshments from 3 to 5 pm, Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor.
