WINTERPORT – Milton E. “Uncle Milty” Alley, 75, died unexpectedly after a brief illness on November 10th, 2019, at his home surrounded by his loving wife and children. He was born August 3rd, 1944, in Prospect Harbor, the son of Leonice W. (Alley) and Alston A. Alley. Milton was a hard worker from a young age working with his father in Alley’s Garage and in the woods. He began trucking as soon as he could drive and had the CB-handle, “Island Boy”. He drove for many years the longest hauling for H.O. Bouchard. He was very proud of the award he received in 2010, 4 million miles. He started his own business, Starlight Trailer Leasing and worked on his own trailers after “retirement”. He was a fun-loving man who enjoyed time spent with family and friends. He enjoyed a good joke as long as it wasn’t on him. He was generous and loved helping people. In addition to his parents, Milton was predeceased by his stepson, David Brown. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Sally (Sprague) Alley, are his daughter, Belinda Foss Smith and her husband, Brian of Jonesboro; son, Albert Alley and his wife, Tonja of Jonesboro; daughter, Susan Alley of Beals; stepson, Donald Brown and his wife, Colleen of Anderson, TX; daughter-in-law, Holly Boyce and her husband, George of Stonington; grandchildren, Albert “AJ” Alley, Krista Foss, Eileen Simpson and her husband, Christopher, Darlene Megno and her husband, Kris, Meghan Brown and her partner, Mitch, Justin Brown, Ashley Orcutt and her husband, Bryan, Donald “DJ” Brown and his wife, Hanna, Keely Brown and her partner, Collin; great-grandchildren, Hanna, Emma, and Lia Megno, Jackson McCue, Isabella Mills, Liam and Sophie Simpson, Mya A. Brown, Aveen M. Orcutt, Trace D. Brown, and coming soon, Davis G. Bomberger. Milton’s sister, Joyce Merchant of Addison,; sisters-in-law, Mona Gatcomb, and Sandra Urquhart; brother-in-law, Sammy Sprague and his wife, Pat; and many nieces and nephews. Milton had many wonderful friends and trucking buddies who cherished him as much as he valued them. A memorial service will be held 1pm, Sunday, November 24, 2019 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor with the Rev. Dr. Rex H. Garrett officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to a reception at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor following the service.
