York, PA - Muriel Bennett McAlister, 84, died January 20, 2018 at the Wellspan York Hospital, PA. She was born July 7, 1933 in Providence, Rhode Island, the daughter of the late Clarence E. and Ruth (Nason) Bennett.
Muriel was a 1951 graduate of Orono High school and a 1955 graduate of the University of Maine, Orono. She was the wife of Arthur R. McAlister with whom she observed their 63rd wedding anniversary on August 14, 2017.
In addition to her husband, Muriel is survived by three sons, Dave McAlister and his wife, Liz, of Westfield, NJ, Gary McAlister and his wife, Susan, of Franklin, MA, and Bill McAlister and his wife, Judi, of Gainesville, VA; six grandsons, Daniel McAlister and his wife Robyn, Kevin McAlister, Bryan McAlister, Jesse McAlister, Scott McAlister and Nick McAlister; a granddaughter, Morgan McAlister; a brother, Ronald S. Bennett and his wife, Connie, of Scarborough.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday May 26, 2018 at the Riverside Cemetery, Bennoch Road, Orono.
