Hampden – I, Myrna Jean Ramsay, 87, died October 07, 2021 at EMMC. I was born December 19, 1934, in New York, N.Y., the daughter of William and Jean Horowitz.
Everyone that knew me called me Jean. I was a nurse for many years, but my principal job was mom and grandmother. Married for 60 years, I moved about the country as my husband's profession dictated. When it came to retiring, Maine was always our first choice. After the death of my husband, Lou, I traveled a bit to visit family, but home was where I felt most comfortable. Home was also where my beloved cats, Mai and Merit could be found. These Siamese were the connection to Lou and my best friends.
I have never been one to fear death. I knew with my health issues; every day was a gift. I also hate funerals and memorials. If you would, send a bag of cat food or kitty litter to the Bangor Humane Society in my memory.
I am survived by 6 children, 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. A special thanks to my daughter Kathy. Your visits always brought a smile to my face. Peter, the number 4 son; you promised your dad that you would look after me. For 10 years you did just that. Take care of the cats, feed the birds and take a well-deserved vacation.
