Nancy Clark

July 17, 1931 — May 25, 2020

Nancy P. Clark, passed away peacefully on Memorial Day, surrounded by her loving family. Spring was her favorite time of year, made special by her flower gardens, crab apple trees in bloom, daffodils, and tulips. Surrounded by bouquets of her flowers, Nancy passed of natural causes. Nancy was born July 17, 1931 in Bangor to Malcom and Lois (Hutchins) Pratt. After graduation from Bangor High School, she and her high school sweetheart, Earl L. Bartlett got married and started their lives in Fairbanks Alaska. While in Alaska, Nancy worked as a Wien Airlines stewardess, while Earl was employed by the F.A.A.
After five adventurous years Earl was transferred across the country to Nantucket Island. Nancy was proud of her work as an instructor in the Nantucket School of Needlery where she was gifted in many needle and fabric arts, such as embroidery, rug braiding and quilting. While in Nantucket, Nancy and Earl lived in a lovely home on Winter Street until Earl’s death in 1971.
After the death of her husband, Nancy moved to Hampden, Maine. She later married Reginald R. Clark in 1979 and was married 31 years until his death in 2010. With Reg, Nancy was able to continue her love of travel and adventure exploring Alaska, and most of Canada. They also enjoyed camping, spending time on Swan Lake and traveling the backwoods in Maine. They enjoyed their wonderful gardens and spending time with the grandchildren.
Nancy is survived by her daughters, Laurie Eddy and Leslie Howe, her grandchildren Brittany Layman, Shelby Greene, and Nicholas Eddy, and step-daughters Sandra Boynton and Pauline Levesque, including numerous grand and great grandchildren.
Laurie and Leslie wish to thank all of Nancy’s caregivers at New England Home Care and CHCS Hospice who made it possible for her to remain home during the last few years. Donations in her memory may be made to Hampden Garden Club, 11 Stoneybrook Rd., Hampden, ME. 04444.
A celebration of life will be held later this summer for family.
