Orrington - Nancy Lee Smith, 88, passed away with her family by her side on December 29, 2021. She was born on July 20, 1933 in Bangor, the daughter of Clarence and Sadie Jellison.
Nancy graduated from Bangor High School, Class 1951. She married Francis “Smitty” Smith on June 19, 1951. They were married for 66 years until Smitty passed in 2019. Her love was her home, cooking, taking care of her husband, children, and grandchildren.
She worked at Penquis Cap for several years and once retired, She and Smitty had a seasonal home in St. Petersburg, Florida. For over 25 years they made many friends and memories while there.
Nancy is survived by three sons, James and his wife, Jody, Ronald and his wife, Kate, and Thomas and his wife, Rhonda; her daughter, Catherine; five grandchildren, Kari, Jolie, Vicki, Shane, Spencer and his wife, Madi; three great grandchildren, Charlotte, Violet, and Ariyah; her sister, Linda West; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son-in-law, George Allen; sisters, Jane Drillen, Clarice Weston, and Elaine Watson.
The family appreciated the care she was given while at Winterberry Heights.
The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments from 5-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at the Family Reception Rooms of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main St., Brewer. A time to share memories will begin at 6:00 p.m.
