Neil Allen Mayo, 87, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2019 at Togus VA Medical Center. He was born August 30, 1932, in Milo, the son of Maurice and Dola (Brackett) Mayo.
Neil served in the U.S Army at the end of the Korean War. He worked for Bangor and Aroostook Railroad for over 35 years, where he retired. Neil enjoyed working around the yard and home projects.
In addition to his parents, Neil was predeceased by his loving wife of 61 years, Jean Marilyn (White) Mayo; two sisters, Sandra Murano and Pearl Mayo; two brothers, Ralph and Richard Mayo.
Neil is survived by his son, Dale Allen Mayo and his wife, Carol; daughter, Pamela Jean Watson and her husband, Mike; grandchildren, Kyla Stewart and her husband, Michael, Erin, Shane, and Michael Mayo, Matthew and Rebecca Watson; four great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Cote; brothers, Carl and Walter Mayo; as well and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held 2-3 PM Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center Street, Bangor, following visitation.
