Nellie Lucile House, 93, died November 23, 2019 at Brewer Center for Health and Rehabilitation. She was born October 14, 1926 in Monroe, the daughter of Robert L. and Juanita M. (Puckett) Benson.
After early years spent in Monroe the family moved to Saponac. On July 6, 1949 Nellie married Norman House of Lee, Maine where she resided for over fifty years.
In addition to her parents, Nellie was predeceased by her husband, Norman; two brothers, Richard and Raymond Benson; three sisters, Dorothy Mitchell, Gladys Fernald, and Martha Benson.
She is survived by three daughters, Molly Northup and her husband, James of Bangor, Kathleen House of Eddington, Juanita White and her husband, Roger; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Those who wish to remember Nellie in a special way may make gifts in support of the family toward the funeral expenses to Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor, Maine 04401.
A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lee with a reception to follow at Gillmor’s Restaurant in Lincoln at a date and time to be announced in the spring.
