Noel Sirabella

December 13, 1945 — April 27, 2023

EXETER - Noel Charles Sirabella, 77, of Exeter, Maine, passed away unexpectedly 27 April 2023, while on vacation in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with his beloved wife Sandy at his side. He was born December 13, 1945 in Bangor, Maine, to Mario J. “Lee” and Stella (Higgins) Sirabella.

Noel enlisted in the Air National Guard in 1963, where he worked his way up through the ranks, eventually retiring as a Lt Colonel in 1992. He graduated from Brewer High School in 1964 and began working at Bangor Roofing & Sheet Metal Company while attending the University of Maine at Orono. Noel graduated from University of Maine, Orono in 1970 and was promoted to Vice President of Bangor Roofing soon thereafter. Noel worked at Bangor Roofing, (Hahnel Brothers), until his retirement in 2012. After his retirement, he worked as the Animal Control Officer for the towns of Dexter, Corinth, Levant, Exeter, Stetson and Corinna.

In 1992, Noel and his wife, Sandy purchased a horse farm in Exeter which they named “SirSarg Stables,” (for Sirabella and Sargent) and would eventually run with their son, Dustin. In addition to the horses, Noel and Sandy raised Boxer dogs and operated an overnight horse camp for children in the summer. Noel never knew quite how many horses were at the farm at any given time because he always took in those needing care and Sandy always sneaked in a few extra of the same color so he would not notice. Noel enjoyed the farm life, trail riding with Sandy and Dustin, having his morning coffee on the deck with his dogs Lulu, Stella and Severide, while looking out over the pasture full of horses. He loved spending time with his family which included many grandchildren, great granddaughters, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Noel and Sandy could be found camping at the annual Fryeburg Fair during the first week of October. When he was not working, Noel could be found listening to his audio books at any point throughout the day.

Noel was very community-minded and was a member of many civic organizations including the Lions Club of Bangor where he served as President and the Kiwanis in Dexter. He was a Mason and a member of the Anah Temple Shrine Horse Patrol where he rode his black horse “Chelsey” during many parades, despite being told he had to ride a palomino. Noel also served many years on the board of selectmen for the town of Exeter.

Noel was predeceased by his parents, Lee and Stella Sirabella, and his brother, David and an infant brother, Peter. He is survived by his wife, Sandy; his sister, Lauri Holland and husband, Jack of Florida; daughter, Holly Wing and husband, Jeff of Alabama; his two sons, Noel Sirabella, Jr. and wife, Kathy of Kansas, and Dustin Sirabella of Milford; five grandchildren, Bradley Wing and wife, Clarissa, Rachel Nabors and husband, Caleb, and Nicole Tankersley, and her husband, Patrick all of Alabama, and Matthew Sirabella and Drew Sirabella of Kansas; eight great-granddaughters, Adaleigh, Madison, Violet, Ariella, Hinsley, and triplets, Emma, Amelia, and Isabelle; nephews, David “KC”, Michael and Antonio Sirabella and their children; cousins, Bridget Larson of Portland and Patrick Larson and his wife, Laurie Larson and daughters, Sarah and Erin of Bangor.

Noel was also close with his mother-in-law, Beverly Sargent, as well as his three sisters-in-law, Angie Reeves and husband, Carl, Debbie Page, and Tammy Sargent, one brother-in-law, Scott Sargent, as well as special nieces and nephews, Chad, Tiffany, Kayla, Chelsea, Katlyn and Ian; great nieces and nephews, Madi, Maci, Morgan, Lincoln, Mabel and Owen.
