Noor “Bobby” S. Khan, 58, passed away on February 6, 2023, at Eastside Center For Health and Rehabilitation. He was born on July 17, 1964, in Lahore, Pakistan, the first-born son of Noor-Uddin Khan & Saeeda Khan.

Noor was raised in Lahore, Pakistan and immigrated to the United States of America with his father, mother, 5 younger sisters and 2 younger brothers; They settled in Fitchburg, Massachusetts in the late 70s. Noor was an exceptional son & brother, providing care, guidance and support to his family every step of the way. Following his graduation from high school, Noor earned his Bachelor’s & Master’s in Business Administration.

In 1987, Noor married his wife & partner, Farzana Khan. They have two beautiful, strong and resilient children; their oldest, Tahmoor Khan & their youngest, Rukhsar Khan. Noor & Farzana moved to Maine in the early 90s, where they owned & operated Bahaar Pakistani Restaurant at 23 Hammond St., in Bangor for over 25 years. Noor being the business savant he is and Farzana, the master chef, both served the city of Bangor to the fullest. Noor was a proud member of the community, helping create Downtown Bangor what it is today. Noor enjoyed watching his shows & movies, the local evening news and NFL Sundays. He loved talking about his wife’s cooking, his home country of Pakistan, his love for flying kites and bad dad jokes. Noor’s pride and joy were his children; He treasured being with his family and loved his wife, daughter & son very much.

Surviving Noor, in addition to his loving wife of 35 years, Farzana Khan; are his son, Tahmoor Khan, his daughter, Rukhsar Khan, a very special niece, Aleena Khan and his brother-in-law, Zafar Khan. Noor’s family in Pakistan includes his mother-in-law, Zebunissa Burney, his sister-in-law, Durdana Iqbal, his godson, Mohammad Waqas Khan, with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

His family in Massachusetts includes his mother, his 5 younger sisters and 1 younger brother. His father and younger brother predeceased him.

Noor was a strong, thoughtful, caring and loving human, son, brother, cousin, uncle, husband, father and friend. His fingerprints won’t fade from the lives he’s touched.

May Allah, Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala, grant him peace and serenity in Jannah.

‎إِنَّا ِلِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ

Surely, we belong to Allah and verily to Him do we return.

Noor’s funeral service was provided by Brookings-Smith of Bangor & the Islamic Center of Maine in Orono. Noor was laid to rest on February 10, 2023 at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
