Olive Frances (Ogilvie) Bragg, 98, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2024, in Bangor, Maine, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 23, 1926, in Bangor, Maine, the daughter of James H. and Cassie E. (Salisbury) Ogilvie.
Olive spent her early years growing up in Otis and graduated from Bangor High School in 1945. She dedicated 47 years of her life to teaching Sunday School, imparting wisdom and faith to generations of children. She also had a fulfilling career, working at Merrill Trust Company and Diamond International. Olive enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including knitting and crocheting, writing poems, reading her Bible, praying, singing, and most of all, spending precious moments with her family.
Olive was predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, Forest A. Bragg Jr.; two sisters, Viola Bolstridge and Mildred Goode; brother, Llewellyn Johnson. Olive leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory, including her two daughters and their spouses, Pamela and Richard Simpson, Nancy and Dale Foster; six grandchildren and their spouses, Thomas Estes Jr., Michelle and Matthew Costa, Kimberly Foster, Melissa and Christian Funari, Katie and Thomas Martinello, Matthew and Hannah Foster; ten great-grandchildren, whom she fondly called "Her Buddies", Christian, Chase, Liam, Olive, Levi, Noah, Lucy, Millie, Eleanor, and Graham; as well as two dear nieces, Iver Crosby and Gladys Merrill.
Olive's family expresses heartfelt gratitude to Ross Manor Rehab and everyone who has reached out with love and support during this difficult time. Olive will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
A funeral service to honor Olive's life will be held at 1 PM on Monday, June 10, 2024, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. Friends are invited to call from 12 PM until the time of the service. All are invited to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor, immediately following the service. Interment will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hermon.
