BRADFORD - It is with great sorrow that we share the loss of a beautiful, kind and sweet soul. Pamela “Pammy” (Strout) Dwyer born on July 30, 1955 in Hudson, Maine to Warren and Lillian (Babb) Strout left this earth on June 12, 2024 to join all her beloved and missed family and friends in Heaven.
Pam was blessed to have married the love of her life, Eugene “Gene” Dwyer. They were together for 50 years, 46 years of that in a happy and loving marriage. Pam and Gene enjoyed spending many happy times with family and friends on motorcycle trips and 4-wheeler rides. Pammy lit up when she was with her family and friends. Her sense of humor made for much fun, laughs and memories and she spread joy wherever she went. Pammy was a very outgoing person who loved people and was quickly loved back as was evident in the love and compassion shown to her by the nursing staff at NLH in Bangor and Maine Medical in Portland.
Pammy had an amazing ability to recall past events and often told funny stories of times spent with her mom and sisters going to yard sales, craft sales and shopping trips. The last few years, she looked forward to going anywhere but especially shopping and eating out with her “Golden Girl” companions, sister, Wanita and friend, Lisa. A title affectionally given to them by brother, Steve. She had a circle of family and friends that she enjoyed talking with on the phone and would check frequently on anyone sick, traveling or something happening in their lives as she was our “mother hen”. In her final weeks, Pammy had some difficult medical challenges that she handled with amazing faith, strength and unwavering concerns for everyone else. Her heart was bigger than this world and she gave endless love to all those in her life.
Pam is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Eugene. She was a cherished and loving sister to her brother, Stephen (Bonnie) Strout; sisters, Lucretia (Darryl) Niles, Gail (Sterling) Smith, Iona (Walter) Young, Wanita Allen, Bonnie Rae (Allen) Chase, Terrie Sue (Tom) Allen; in-laws, Marlene Hogan, Brenda (Jim) Hall, Nancy (Bill) Malone, Norma (Bruce) Malone and Jean Dwyer. She was a beloved “Aunt Pammy” to her many nephews and nieces especially niece, Sue Ann Allen and family. She had a special loving bond with Owen Hanson who was like a grandson to “Nana” Pam. She will be fondly remembered by many special friends especially her friend and neighbor, Lisa Brasslett who was like family; her fur baby, Peaches who brought joy to her and Gene. Along with her parents, she will reunite with her brother, Teddy; sister, Patty Brasslett; in-laws, Bob Allen, Emery Dwyer, Joanne McEwen; nephew, Shane Dwyer; great-nephew, Eric Niles and many other beloved family and friends.
Pammy was deeply loved by the Strout and Dwyer families and will be greatly missed.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call from 1 – 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at the Charleston Church, 185 Main Rd., Charleston immediately followed by a Celebration of her Life at 2:00 p.m. Pammy would be tickled if people were to wear her favorite color, pink. A private committal service in Williams Cemetery, Bradford will be held for immediate family, following the service. Friends and relatives are invited to share conversation and refreshments at the Bradford Town Office/Community Center, 345 East Rd, Bradford during that time.
