Patricia Anne (Theriault) Skehan, age 84, of Hampden, Maine, died December 15, 2016 after a brief illness. She was born August 4, 1932 in Howland, Maine, the daughter of Edmund J. and Mary A. (Nadeau) Theriault.

Pat was a graduate of Howland High School, Washington State Normal School in Machias, and Washington State Teachers College in Machias. She taught first grade in Brewer, Bangor, and at Loring Air Force Base in Limestone. She then decided to dedicate herself to caring for her husband and raising their four children.

Pat always welcomed her siblings and their families to her home in Hampden. Along with her sister Ruth, she organized the annual Theriault Family Reunion for over 20 years. Among her many interests were quilting, sewing, cake decorating, and especially her family.

Pat is survived by her loving husband of over 64 years, John W. Skehan of Hampden, her son Rev. John R. Skehan of Bar Harbor, her daughter Mary E. Skehan of Topsham, her son Robert A. Skehan and his wife Michelle of Vassalboro, and her beloved grandson Conor Skehan. In addition, she is survived by sisters Mary Alice Bruce of Portland, Phyllis Theriault of Portland, and Ruth Torrey of Bangor. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Theriault of So. Portland and Joan Theriault of Bangor, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her son William, her parents, six brothers, Clayton, Wayne, Darrell, Donald, John and William, and two sisters, Joan Flagg and Lillian May.

Relatives and friends are invited to call 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at the Hampden Gilpatrick Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 45 Western Ave. Hampden. A Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 70 Western Ave., Hampden. The Rite of Committal will be in the family lot in Locust Grove Cemetery in Hampden in the spring.

Those wishing to remember her in a special way, may make donations in her memory to the Edythe L. Dyer Community Library, 269 Main Road North, Hampden, Maine 04444. Immediately following the funeral mass, relatives and friends are invited to share refreshments and conversation in the parish hall.
