CARMEL - Paul L. Falkenburg, 71, went to be with his Lord April 20, 2021, after many years of health issues. He was born May 11, 1949, in Hackensack, New Jersey, the son of Warren H. and Wilma (Pycock) Falkenburg.
Paul graduated from Pasack Hills High School, New Jersey, Class of 1967. He graduated from New Brunswick Bible Institute in 1969. While there, he sang in the NBBI Freshmen Quartet. According to fellow singer, John Nickerson, they would sing as their final song of each performance, “Leave Your Heavy Burden at the Cross”. Paul sang bass. He went on to be an Assistant Pastor at Hermon Baptist Church sometime during the early 70’s, when Mary and Reginald Clement prayed to receive Christ. Reggie has remained his lifelong friend. He enjoyed the outdoors, whether logging or doing construction work. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved fresh brook trout. He enjoyed helping people. He was first in line when someone needed help whether it be in repairing the home or their car. Many can attest to his quick wit and humor, always having a joke to tell. He may not have seen friends often, but he would just pick up where he left off when he saw them.
Paul married Deborah Caldwell on Cape Cod September 11, 1982. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Debbie, are his daughter; Peg Slicer and her husband, Merlin of Harrington, Maine; son, Sean Falkenburg and his wife, Kelly, of North Smithfield, Rhode Island; brother, Warren and his wife, Rudelle, of North Truro, Massachusetts; sisters, Susan Joy of Mashpee, Massachusetts, and Bethellyn Strickland and her husband, Tom, of Eastham, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Betty Slicer, Michael Slicer, Logan Falkenburg, Mae Falkenburg & Mack Falkenburg; five nieces and nephews; his Uncle Bob and Aunt Jodie Falkenburg, from Martha’s Vineyard; and many cousins and friends.
Family and friends are invited to join us to celebrate and remember Paul's life on Saturday, May 22nd at 11 am. at Harvest Chapel, 3531 Union Street, Levant. A light lunch will follow."
