Paul Gregory

June 14, 1942 — September 22, 2023

Bangor - Paul Lewis Gregory passed away on September 22, 2023, at his daughter's home in Bangor. He was born on Flag Day, June 14, 1942, in Long Island, NY, to parents Herbert Lewis and Arline Grace (L'Hommedieu) Gregory.
After high school, Paul enlisted in the Air Force, where he served his country dutifully for four years. He graduated from Ryder University in New Jersey. After college, he moved to Michigan to work at the Hartford Insurance Company, where he met Vickie Lee Taylor. They later married and had two daughters, Heather and Holly, only 14 months apart! Paul moved his family to Phoenix, Arizona, in the early 1980s. He later found Prescott, it was there that he found his home and developed a large community of friends and his interests in spirituality. In his later years, he found great joy in the Dances of Universal Peace and the Sufi's. He was able to travel and develop deep friendships through these communities.
Paul was a peaceful man, a gentle soul who quietly guided his daughters though life's challenges. Unfortunately, dementia took much of his joy in the last few years here in Maine. He passed much sooner than expected, and not from dementia, but from a large right MCA stroke that he was unable to recover from. In the end, he was surrounded by his daughter, four grandchildren, and his dearly loved dog, December, who laid on his lap until the very end. With the generous help and loving support of Northern Light Hospice, his passing was peaceful and calm; he knew he was loved.
Paul followed his parents and younger sister, Martha, to what lies next. He leaves behind his daughters and seven grandchildren split between Arizona and Maine, and December, who misses him very much.
Live life to the fullest. Live each day as you would live your last and, as my father would say (and how he ended every conversation), "have fun."
