BANGOR - Paul Joseph Spellman, 63, passed away December 31, 2024, with family by his side, after a tough battle with cancer. He was born December 29, 1961, in Bangor, the son of Thomas F. and Eleanor F. (Cameron) Spellman.
Paul attended St. Mary’s School, John Bapst and Bangor High Schools. He worked for many years at Shaw’s Supermarket. Paul enjoyed reading, crosswords and puzzles and loved horse racing! He brought a smile to many with his friendly greetings like, ’Hey Hammah” or “Hi Darlin”. He was kind, witty and had a sense of humor like no other. Paul was truly one of a kind.
Paul is survived by his son Gavin, special friend and Gavin’s mother, Leisa O’Clair. Also missing Paul, are his siblings, Mary Morse and her husband, Greg, Thomas Spellman Jr. and his wife, Carol, Timothy Spellman, Regina “Jeannie” Taylor and her husband, Mark. He also will be missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by parents, Thomas and Eleanor.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5-7 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor where a Funeral Liturgy outside of Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 10. The family invites all to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor, immediately following the service. The Rite of Committal will be in Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor, at a time to be determined in the spring. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com.
