ORONO – Pauline (Edgecomb) Ware, died April 6, 2015 at a Bangor hospital. She was born in Bangor, daughter of George H. and Miriam (Morris) Edgecomb.
Pauline had been employed with the Western Union in Bangor and Washington, D.C. She was a waitress at the Thompson Restaurant, Veazie, Twin City Motel, Brewer, Pine Tree Restaurant, Bangor and was the owner of the Iron Kettle, Harbor View Restaurant in Bucksport and Polly’s Diner in Bangor. She retired from the IGA Coffee Shop in Brewer and later purchased the Link View Motel in Orono. She was the founder of the Landlord Association.
Surviving are her four children, Crystal Simmons and her husband, Norman of Glenburn, Diana Harmon and her husband, Michael of Falmouth, Philip Ware and Gail Nason of Bangor and Deborah Babcock of Orono; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Harold Ware, a daughter, Donna Gosselin and a granddaughter, Tara Smith.
A funeral service will be held 11am Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor with the Rev. Paul Warf, pastor of the Word of Life Christian Center, Bangor, officiating. Relatives and friends are welcome to call from 10am until time of service Thursday. All are invited to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor, immediately following the service Thursday.
