Peter LaCrosse
Bangor
Peter LaCrosse, 79, of Bangor, Maine passed away December 5th after a brief illness. He was born to Lester LaCrosse and Florence (Martini) LaCrosse on August 15, 1944, in Bangor.
Peter graduated from Husson College in 1968 with a degree in accounting, which took him to Coshocton, Ohio. He moved back to Bangor in 1991 to take care of his parents, to whom he was incredibly dedicated, while working for Northern Maine Sporting Journal delivering newpapers around the state for many years. Peter was an avid golfer, taking trips across the country and even to St. Andrews in Scotland for a round. He was a lifelong fan of the Red Sox, New York Giants and Ohio State. He most enjoyed spending time with family, especially looking forward to annual visits from his sister and brother and their families (along with the excesses of seafood that followed), and would arrive 2 hours early to any family gathering. He continued his parents’ Christmas Eve tradition, spending days preparing an appetizer spread that served as dinner and wearing a Santa hat to hand out presents to the kids, no matter how old they got.
He is predeceased by his parents, Lester and Florence LaCrosse, and brother-in-law James McDonald. He is survived by his brother, Paul and wife Judy LaCrosse of Larkspar, CO, and his two sisters, Jeannine and husband Drew Robertson of Bangor, and Marylou McDonald of Dover, DE. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and even more grand nieces and nephews.
Peter’s family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Northern Light Hospice, Westgate Manor, and Country Villa for the care and kindness they provided.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 3 pm to 5 pm Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor.
