Peter Mckenna

DIXMONT - Peter McKenna, 77, of Dixmont, ME died unexpectedly on January 10, 2023 at an Augusta hospital. Peter was born in Providence, Rhode Island. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War on the USS Hancock and the USS Medway. He was still working full time for the United States Postal Service where he had been working for over 50 years. Pete enjoyed time with family, his grandchildren, traveling with his wife, going out to eat and hotdogs. Pete loved practical jokes and always made everyone laugh. He will be dearly missed and always remembered.

He is survived by his wife Sharon McKenna of Dixmont; four stepchildren, Robert Williams and his wife, Teresa, Susan Williams and her husband, Tom, Douglas Williams and Kimberly Williams; his sister-in-law, Carol McKenna; his niece, Katie Campbell and his nephew, Kevin McKenna; 6 grandchildren, whom he loved dearly and held close to his heart, Chelsea, Jacqueline, Meaghan, Celab, Cody, Brandon, and two great grandsons, Levi and Greyson. Peter was predeceased by his parents, Philip and Alice McKenna and his brother, Michael McKenna.

At Peter’s request, relatives and friends are welcome to join his family in a celebration of life 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2023 at the family reception center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor, Maine.
