February 19, 1936 — December 11, 2020

Philip E. Bean, Sr
CORINTH – Philip E. Bean, Sr, 84, left this world to be with his Lord and Savior on December 11, 2020 surrounded by family.
Known to many as “Beanie” he was born February 19, 1936, in Presque Isle, Maine, the son of Dennis and Edna (Hartford) Bean. The family later moved to Corinth, where met and married Marie Munson on May 7, 1954 and has resided since.
Phil helped on the in-law’s potato farm over the years while working as a mechanic at Kelley Pontiac, moving on to Bean & Conquest as a frontend mechanic, and then to Brake Service; he also worked as custodian for SAD #64.
The proudest, and happiest memories and the center of many family gatherings and camping weekends are his four children and their spouses; Linda Rivard and husband Normand, Philip Bean Jr and wife Norma, Rhonda Severance and husband Stephen, and Brenda Mailman and husband Durand. Phil and Marie’s pride and joy were their 13 grandchildren; Marissa Rivard, Joshua Bean and wife Megan, Jeremy Bean and wife Kimberly, Christopher Bean and wife Amanda, Daniel, Rachael and Michael Severance, Meagan Lowe and husband Andrew, Colby Mailman and wife Jessica, Shelby Shaw and husband Luke, Cassidy Miller and husband Brian, Hayley Mailman and partner Jake, and Ethan Mailman. Another great pride and joy to “G-pop” were his 12 (soon to be 13) great grandchildren; Matthew, Malachi and Mullins Bean, Emma and Lillian Bean, Jackson, Alexander and (twins) Elise and Samuel Lowe, Makenna and Bodhi Mailman and Theodore Miller. He will miss, but is sure to be watching from heaven at the arrival of Lincoln Shaw.
Phil leaves behind a brother-in-law, Carroll Munson and wife Carol, sister-in-law Nancy Munson, sister-in-law Donna Rizzo, half-sister-in-law Joyce Burney, special aunt-in-law Virginia Philbrick, and several nieces and nephews. Phil was predeceased by his loving wife of 64 years in 2018 and earlier by his parents, brother Ronald Bean, sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Harold Wilcox; Marie’s parents Vaughn and Helen (Philbrick) Munson; brother-in-law John Munson and wife Iona, brother-in-law, Raymond Munson, and nephew Sean Munson.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the care received from Visiting Angels, New England Home Health and many special private care workers, all of whom became part of the family.

Relatives and friends are invited to call 1 pm to 2 pm Friday, December 18, 2020, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, followed by a private service which will be available at 2pm live streamed. Go to BrookingsSmith,.com and click on available live streams icon to view.
Interment will be at Corinthian Cemetery, Corinth in the spring.
