Bangor - Philip N. Boody, 88, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 28, 1936, in Corinna, Maine, he was the son of Norman and Gertrude Boody. Phil graduated from Corinna Union Academy in 1954, where he was a standout athlete, excelling on both the basketball court and baseball field. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and a deep love for his family and friends.
He spent 35 years working at UPS, where he earned the well-deserved nickname "The Legend" for his unwavering commitment and exceptional work ethic. His colleagues and friends will remember him as a man who took pride in his work and always went the extra mile. Over the years, he developed a special bond with the Downeast Maine Community, forging lasting relationships with those he served and supported throughout his career.

His enthusiasm for sports extended beyond the golf course. He was also an avid candlepin bowler and a dedicated softball player, known for his competitive spirit and camaraderie on and off the field.
Phil’s love for the outdoors was evident in his lifelong pursuit of hunting and fishing. Whether he was casting a line or tracking game, he found peace and fulfillment in nature, often sharing these moments with family and friends.
Beyond his sporting interests, he was a passionate supporter and owner of harness racing horses. He shared a special bond with his horses, Personal Image, NF Sinful, and GH Silver Shadow and took great pride in their achievements on the track.
Of all his roles, none brought him more joy than that of a grandfather. He was a constant presence at his grandsons' sporting events, cheering on Noah, Luke, and Ryan with tremendous pride and love.
Phil is predeceased by his parents, Norman and Gertrude Boody. He is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Donna Boody; his children, Rick Boody of Melrose, MA, Ronda Beck and her husband Will of Bangor, ME, and Robyn Missbrenner and her husband Mike of Bangor, ME; his beloved grandsons, Noah Missbrenner, Luke Missbrenner, and Ryan Beck; his sister, Marlene Pray; his brother, Dwayne Boody and his wife Marcia; and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
