HAMPDEN - Philip Earl Perkins, 76, passed away peacefully at his home in Hampden, November 13, 2021. He was born October 28, 1945, in Bangor, the son of Leon Perkins and Helen (Graves) Perkins.
Phil worked 21 years for the town of Hampden, 3 for Wardwells, 7 with H.O. Bouchard, and retired after 9 years with Silver's Construction. Phil enjoyed camping and fishing, spending time with his family, friends, and his canine companion, Peppa; as well as his breakfasts and long rides with his son-in-law, Loren.
Phil is survived by his children, Pamela Braley and husband, Loren, James Parent II and Diane, and Candy White and husband, George; grandchildren, Samantha, Ryan and Mary, Rachel and husband, Patrick, Megan and husband, Scott, Kelsey, Lian, Emily, and Tristan; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Natalie, Brycen, Virginia; his sisters, Arlene Hathaway and Eleanor Brooks; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife of 42 years, Carole; his son, Victor; his brothers, Maurice and Clifford; and his niece, Renee Clark.
The family would like to thank the staff of Kindred Hospice for the care Phil received, with special thanks to Dawn and Chelsea.
Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, November 18, at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, where funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 18, with Pastor Barry Whitmore, of Winterport Baptist Church, presiding. Due to Covid 19, masks are required and there will be no reception. Interment to follow at Locust Grove Cemetery, Hampden. In lieu of flowers, gifts in Phil's memory may be made to Kindred Hospice, 824 Stillwater Ave., Suite B, Bangor, ME 04401 or NL Cancer Care Lafayette Family Cancer Institute, 33 Whiting Hill Rd, Brewer, ME 04412, ATTN Valerie Getchell.
