Phyllis Adams

April 24, 1933 — December 29, 2015

Bradley – Phyllis Lucas Adams left this world December 29th, 2015 to dance with her husband of 50 years, Homer Adams. Phyllis passed away peacefully at her daughter's home surrounded by family. She was born April 24th, 1933, in Orono, the daughter of Walter and Mary (Martin) Lucas. Phyllis was one of 15 children.

She attended Orono Schools. After her marriage to Homer in 1954, Phyllis moved to Olamon, where they raised 3 children. Phyllis worked hard in local shoe shops and as a custodian at Helen S. Dunn School for 20 years. Phyllis enjoyed dancing, family events, arts & crafts, shopping, playing cards, bingo & an occasional trip to the casino. She always made holidays special for everyone in her life. She was a past member of the VFW woman's auxiliary, and a member of the Senior Citizens Club of Old Town.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter Ava Spruce & husband John of Bradley; two sons, Clement & Keith Adams of Greenbush; two granddaughters, Brandy & Maria Spruce of Bradley; two great grandchildren, Dylan & Delina; three brothers, Bernard, Frank, & Kenneth “Choppy” Lucas; three Sisters, Thelma Nevells, Gertrude Nevells, & May Renco; many nieces and nephews; her best friend of 60 years Marie O'keefe; and long-time friend Sue Smithson. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Homer Adams; one son, Homer Jr.; five brothers, Wilbur, Walter, Neally, Charles, and Jerry Lucas; three Sisters: Verna “Peewee” Beaulieu, Virginia Dyer and Bernice Gibbons.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 8, 2015 at Resurrection of the Lord, St. Ann’s Parish, 68 Main St. Bradley. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments downstairs after the mass. A spring burial will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Old Town.
