Bangor and Old Town – Phyllis A. Turner, 69, died January 5, 2016 at her home in Old Town. She was born May 31, 1946, in Lincoln, the daughter of John T. and Ruth P. (Carr) Kimball.
Phyllis spent her years growing up in Lincoln, then in Bangor. She was a stitcher in the shoe factories, a job she did for 18 years. She met her husband, Nathan Turner and had been together since 1967 until his passing just over 6 years ago. She developed lupus and could no longer work, although she cared for her brothers, sisters, and other family members for many years. She enjoyed painting, puzzlers, and computer games. Phyllis will be known as a loving and caring person. Everyone liked her and her great sense of humor.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Nate and a brother Larry. Phyllis is survived by her 3 children, son Sam Bradshaw and wife Sherrie, daughter Peggy Turner and life partner Joe Ellsworth, and daughter Rose Turner and life partner Philip Wheeler; 9 grandchildren, John, Michael, Kristal, Brandon, Matthew, Amanda, Heaven, Hunter, and Mercedes; brothers John, David, Jimmy, and George; sisters Rose, Kathy, and Gertrude; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to New Hope Hospice and to Fr. Tim for their love and care.
