CAPE ELIZABETH and BREWER – Polly A. Lucas Lindeman, 89, died August 13, 2014 at a Bangor healthcare center. She was born July 5, 1925 in Augusta, the daughter of Everett and Dorothy (Burgess) Colcord.

Polly graduated from Cape Elizabeth High School in 1943 and attended Husson College and the University of Maine. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 18 years, William Lucas. Polly was a devoted wife and mother with a love of God and deep sense of patriotism with many interests, including music, dancing, flowers and nature. She married her husband George Lindeman in 1963. Polly spent many hours volunteering in the community including 15 years at the Ronald McDonald House. She was a member of St. Joseph Auxiliary, EMMC Auxiliary, and a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Brewer, where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Sodality. She was employed by the University of Maine, The Mutual of New York Life Insurance Company, and The Equitable Life Insurance Society as a Secretary.

Polly is survived by her devoted and caring husband, George of Brewer; four children: Beth Dalton and her husband, Mike of Orrington, John Lucas and his wife, Debra of Brunswick, Martha Lucas of Los Angeles, CA and Ann Lindeman and her husband, Scott Greeley of Winslow; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many people who were special to her in her lifetime.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5 to 7pm, Sunday, August 17, 2014 at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main Street, Brewer. A funeral Mass will be held 11am Monday, August 18, 2014 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 531 North Main Street, Brewer. The Rite of committal will be held 12 noon Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta. Those who wish to remember Polly in a special way may make gifts in her memory to Hospice of St. Joseph, P.O. Box 1638, Bangor, ME 04402-1638.
