Priscilla Benoit
Priscilla Benoit, 90, of Somersworth, NH and Old Town, Me died January 31, 2023 after a period of failing health. She was born June 1, 1932, the daughter of Charles and Eleanne (Berube) Jalbert.
Priscilla grew up in Lewiston, ME and graduated from Lewiston High School. In 1955, she married her high school sweetheart, John Benoit, and they enjoyed 64 years of marriage until John passed in 2020.
Priscilla was employed by the University of Maine and was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed reading, family time, cooking, and sewing. She also enjoyed volunteering at The Attic in Bangor, ME.
Surviving are her son, Joseph, and his wife, Paula, of Old Town, ME , her daughter, Elizabeth Ainaire of Somersworth, NH, and her daughter in law, Kathleen Benoit, of Silver Spring, MD; ten grandchildren, Julie, Michelle, Laura, Andy, Krysta, Pat, John, Phil, Michael, and Marie; and several great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Priscilla was predeceased by her husband, John; her son, Tom; and her siblings, Rita, Alda, Louise, and Maurice.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 am Saturday, February 11, 2023 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ohio St. Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., following the mass. Private interment will be held at Maine Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.
