Prudence Corey Barry

Alton - Prudence Corey Barry, 79, died peacefully after a short battle with cancer, September 26, 2016, at her daughter's home in Alton. She was born October 11, 1936, in Etna, the daughter of Merton P. and Mary Edna (Thomas) Pushor. Prudy graduated from Corinna High School in the mid 1950's, and married Ernest Corey June 29, 1957. They both worked at local shoe factories. When their jobs went overseas, they both studied Culinary Arts. Prudy loved baking - especially wedding cakes, and cookies. They were a great team. Ernest died November 4, 1995. Sometime later she married Otis Barry. He died December 17, 2007. She was a member of the Pomona Grange in Kenduskeag. Prudy will be remembered as a funny, busy, and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. In addition to her parents, and husbands, Prudy was predeceased by 8 siblings. She is survived by daughter Joyce Niles and husband Richard; son Judson Corey; grandchildren Theresa Staples, and husband Keith, Jeremy Niles and wife Jessica, Tammy Cyr Barber, and Valerie Carey; 9 great grandchildren; brother David Pushor; many nieces and nephews; and best friends, Ruby Storey and Sharon Young.
